News of a juicy celeb affair hit the tabloids recently. The kicker? LUXE Models consider the importance of a gagging order and why it's so serious to abide by the orders. 

Everyone loves a good celebrity scandal

Every time we hear that a celeb has cheated on their significant other, we find ourselves in two minds about how to feel. On the one hand, everyone loves a good celebrity scandal. On the other, it's never great to enjoy someone else's misery.

Despite our misgivings we usually find ourselves getting wrapped up in the story anyway. Think Cheryl Fernandez-Versini or Sandra Bullock. When we discovered that they’d been cheated on we found ourselves starting to like the unlucky in love A-listers more than we ever had before.

The story of CHS and Mr Y

Obviously we feel differently when the celebrity was the one who cheated. Maybe that’s why the Daily Mail reported that a female celeb, only identified as CHS, has taken out a gagging order to prevent details of her illicit affair with a “high profile” married lover called Mr Y from leaking into the public domain.

CHS had a boyfriend herself. He found a journal she’d used to meticulously detail her time with Mr Y. He took a few snaps of the journals “intimate” entries and confronted her and of course, they had a massive blazing row. After a few more massive blazing rows, CHS decided to take legal action against her boyfriend to preventing him handing over the evidence of her torrid affair to Fleet Street.

Judge grants gagging order

Judge David Hodge QC granted the gagging order under the Human Rights Act. He basically said that if the pics were leaked it could do enormous damage to both CHS and Mr Y as figures of public trust. Hodge also suggested that it would have severe financial repercussions and that in this case, CHS’s privacy was more important than any claim that could be made in the public interest to reveal the pictures.

David Hodge has shattered our dreams! If CHS went to the effort of getting a gagging order to stop these pictures leaking you just know they’ve got to be juicy!

Back in her ‘Pon de Replay’ days Rihanna looked no different than every other teenage starlet looking to make a name for themselves in the music industry. Yet by the time megahit ‘Umbrella’ first inched onto the air waves it was quite clear that Riri had grown up a little, and with her trend-setting new haircut, sleek threads and effortless makeup it was quite clear that the ‘Take a Bow’ singer was taking her first steps towards establishing herself as a fashion icon.

Which she very much is in 2015. The intervening years following ‘Umbrella’ have seen Rihanna become just as famous for her daring, provocative wardrobe choices as her infectious pop ditties. We still can’t forget that fabulous sheer dress she wore at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards!

That’s why we were so disappointed recently when the Daily Mail brought to our attention one Rihanna wardrobe choice that proved even she doesn’t get it right all the time! She rocked up to a recording studio in West Hollywood last Wednesday sporting an outfit that made us want to gouge our eyes out with a rusty spoon.

At this point we hear you asking; what outfit could Rihanna of all people have worn that was bad enough to make LuxeModels want to gouge their own eyes out?’ Just you wait…

Riri chose to arrive at a recording studio rocking a long, loose and layered blue and white checked dress which descended down over her knees, teamed with a cropped yet distinctly unstylish leather jacket. Riri, the kids from Saved by the Bell called, they want their wardrobes back! She may have saved the look if she’d chosen to flash a little leg. Instead she opted by chunky light-blue boyfriend jeans and non-descript lace-up trainers.

As such, we’re fairly sure you understand why the sight of this one picture alone spurred Luxe Models to ask; oh no Rihanna, what were you thinking?! A woman with fashion credentials as pronounced as Rihanna’s really should know better!!

This week Luxe Models wants to take the time to pay tribute to the life, times, controversies, jokes and fashion of the late Joan Rivers.

Joan Rivers Passes Away at the Age of 81

There are few people who are just out and out unafraid to say what is on their minds, and who use that honesty to make their mark on popular culture and break down barriers. Iconic (and controversial) comedienne Joan Rivers was one of those people.

Which is why it was so unfortunate that Joan Rivers passed away last night at the age of 81. Celebrities from Kathy Griffin to Jimmy Fallon to Ellen DeGeneres have paid tribute to the legend that was the funny woman, and now it’s Luxe Models turn.

From Rags to Riches, the Joan Rivers Story

Joan Rivers was simply outstanding. Born to humble beginnings in New York in 1933, it didn’t take long for Rivers - who originally wanted to be an actress - to find her knack for comedy, playing any gig she could get in the 50’s and early 60’s, before she hit the big time with her appearance on the Tonight Show with legendary comedic forebear Johnny Carson in 1965.

From there, her career went into the stratosphere, as she became a staple on US and UK telly in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Yet her career was known for its many lows, and after appearing on the Tonight Show for a number of years, she launched a new rival show, The Late Show, on then-emerging network Fox in 1986. It tanked, and long-time friend Carson never spoke to her again.

Joan River’s Epic Career in Fashion Commentary

Yet, like the idol she was, she picked herself up by her boot straps, dusted herself off and got back in the game, fronting successful shows such as In Bed with Joan, bringing her unique brand of outrageous humour to a whole new audience. But it is for her career in the world of fashion that Luxe Models will most remember Joan Rivers.

Don’t get us wrong, she was certainly no designer, but she was one of the best fashion commentators there’s ever been. Back in the 90’s, the funny woman fronted E!’s red carpet coverage, and she never shied away from a chance to tell an A-Lister just how hideous their posh frock is! Furthermore, she is known for recently co-hosting E!’s celebrity fashion show, Fashion Police, where she brought her biting critique of celeb wardrobe mishaps to a whole new generation.

She Was One of a Kind

So we at Luxe Models salute you Joan Rivers, you were truly one of a kind. Anybody who was honest enough to tell a celebrity that their outfit just plain sucked to their face is someone this world will sorely miss!
